Play therapy is designed for children, who naturally communicate through play rather than words. In a play therapy room, children use toys, sand trays, art, and imaginative play to express and work through their experiences. The therapist creates a safe, non-directive space in which the child leads. It’s used with children who have experienced trauma, loss, abuse, or significant life changes.
